WHY DO I ONLY OFFER WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY NOW AND NOT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY?

In 2017 and a little in 2016 I would do a combo package that included wedding photo and video coverage. Depending on the package I could do both of them myself and if it was a larger package I would have to bring in my colleague. It worked out for a while, but in 2017 I wanted to dive further into the more cinematic side of wedding videos, and I realize that required a very different artistic mindset than photography. I also realize doing only wedding videos at weddings gave me so much creative freedom than that of wedding photography. I especially enjoy capturing such a candid moment when a lot of wedding photography is posed and staged, thus my decision was made to focus solely on wedding films.

WHY SHOULD I INVEST IN A WEDDING FILM?

The film is a way of capturing a special moment in life and holding onto it forever. Unfortunately, memories will start to fail us over time and it will become harder and harder to remember the details of your wedding day. A day that you will want to relive over and over every day after it happens. Well, when you have a wedding film you really can!  Even having the joy of watching it with children and passing them down to grandchildren! It will always be there to relive all the exciting emotions over and over!

DO YOU PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR ELOPEMENTS?

YES, I love this opportunity. I do provide special pricing for coverage of elopements too!

WILL YOU BE USING A DRONE?

Yes, I am part 107 UAS (unmanned aircraft system) certified. So you NEVER have to worry about your wedding film getting pulled off the internet for illegal commercial drone usage! With that being said, the weather conditions do have to be appropriate for drone flights – not raining or not too windy – and as long as your venue is not in a “no-fly zone” which is normally 5 miles from an airport. Then you will have AMAZING drone footage on your big day!

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HIGHLIGHT FILM AND RAW FOOTAGE?

Raw footage is everything that I capture throughout the day in an unedited form. The raw footage is then used to create your highlight film that will be the final product you receive. The raw footage doesn’t look the same as the final highlights film due to not being color corrected and stabilized therefore I do not include it in my packages.

CAN WE CHOOSE THE MUSIC FOR THE FILM? CAN YOU USE POPULAR MUSIC IN MY WEDDING VIDEO?

I do have a website I use for music that I have permission to use in my wedding videos. If you wish to choose a song off there I can definitely see if it will work in your video. I, unfortunately, I can no longer use popular music in the videos anymore. I will admit I used to use any type of music which is why you will recognize some of the songs featured in certain videos, but I realized the severity of what could happen if I was found to be using these songs without the proper licensing – which can cost thousands of dollars. So I have switched to music that I have permission to use.

WHAT WILL THE SOUND QUALITY BE LIKE?

This is a big thing that I will always emphasize with the brides that wish to use me for their wedding. For the best possible audio, I believe it’s best for me to put a Lapel recorder on the officiant and on the groom. This looks very similar to the DJ’s microphone if he is using one, but mine is hooked up to a recorder that they will carry in their pocket and allow me to personally capture everything that’s said during the ceremony. My equipment will not interfere with the DJ’s at all. My recorder doesn’t transmit any type of radio wave or signal. It has a cord that is connected to a small device.

Using this will enable me to have clear and beautiful audio to use if something heartfelt is said during your ceremony that would fit perfectly in your video.

HOW LONG UNTIL I CAN EXPECT TO RECEIVE THE COMPLETED HIGHLIGHT FILM?

My goal is to have your film you under a two-month time frame, however, in the busier season of the year, it could be closer to three or four months. I will always provide you with your film as soon as its ready though, and keep you updated every step of the way!

WHY DO YOU REQUIRE A NONREFUNDABLE RETAINER AND CONTRACT?

As most of you know weddings can get very expensive and as it gets closer to the date in order to free up funds in one area to make room for something else, sometimes brides will choose to drop videography. The nonrefundable retainer allows me to block off that date completely because I know that you’re serious about wanting my services at your wedding, and if another bride asks for her date I can confidently let her know I am not available. The contract is to cover the terms and conditions of my services so we are both on the same page with what is expected of Foxy Creations.

WHAT DOES THE FINAL PRODUCT CONSIST OF?

Depending on the package that you choose your package can range from 1 to 5 videos. Also ranging from 5-15 minutes long. See Video Film Packages to choose what best fits your wedding needs.

DO YOU WORK WELL WITH PHOTOGRAPHERS?

Yes, I do. I try very hard to get to know your photographer ahead of time so that on your wedding day we will be able to work without getting in each other’s way or compromising each other’s shots! Since I was a wedding photographer before and had worked with other videographers it helps me understand the mindset of photographers at a wedding thus helping me stay out of their way.

DOES THE FINAL VIDEO USE DIALOGUE FROM THE WEDDING DAY OR IS IT MUSIC ONLY?

That is completely up to the bride and groom! I’m more than happy and capable of recording whatever you would like included in your film. Whether it be your vows, notes you’ve written to each other, the officiant talking, other things you have to say to each other. All I ask is to let me know so that I will know what to ask from you on the day of, just in case you forget – weddings get hectic you know! 😉

IS THERE A CHARGE FOR STAYING LATER?

I do have a $150 per hour charge to add time in addition to what comes with the package that you’ve booked.

WILL YOU HAVE AN ASSISTANCE FOR THE WEDDING?

Depending on what package you choose and the size of your wedding I will either bring along an assistant to help me during the day or there will be a 2nd videographer with me to film your big day.

HOW LONG WILL THE FINAL PRODUCT BE?

If you have chosen the Gold Film pack then it will include a highlight film 6-7 minutes long. If you have chosen the Platinum Film pack you will get the highlights film plus another film that is closer to 15 minutes long. The platinum film pack also includes the full ceremony edit, speeches & toasts, and best wishes video!

WHAT IS THE BEST WISHES VIDEO?

This video is where I go around to your guests-bridal party, family members, random attendees- during the reception and ask them to share a favorite memory, advice, congratulations, etc with the camera. Then the adorable results will be delivered for you to cherish and laugh at through the years!

DO YOU HAVE BACK UP EQUIPMENT IN CASE OF GEAR FAILURE?

Yes, I have four different cameras that I use so if one were to fail I have two to back them up. I also have six lenses so if something were to happen to one of them I have plenty to take their place!

CAN WE MAKE CHANGES TO THE FILM AFTER WE’VE SEEN IT FOR THE FIRST TIME?

It depends on what you would like changed. I can change certain things with no issue, but other things can alter the entire video. I want to make sure you’re the happiest with your video as you could possibly be. So if something is concerning to you please bring it to my attention and I would be happy to discuss if its something we can change.

HOW MANY WEDDINGS HAVE YOU FILMED?

As of when this question was answered 01/01/2023 I’ve filmed 108 weddings!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE WEDDING INDUSTRY?

I have been doing lifestyle photography since 2013 then I started doing wedding photography in August of 2015, and in Oct of 2016, I started into wedding videography. I have been dedicated to wedding videography only since January 2018.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED FILMING WEDDINGS AND IS IT YOUR MAIN JOB?

Unfortunately, at this time filming is not my primary job. I also work as a customer service representative at a local corporation. One day I will be a full-time videographer though, and it will be GLORIOUS!

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PRODUCTION/VIDEO STYLE (documentary, cinematic, vintage)? WHAT IS YOUR STORYTELLING APPROACH?

I definitely lean toward a cinematic feel for my wedding films. Creating and telling the unique story of your wedding day is so rewarding to my creative endorphins! Most everything will be in chronological order may be a quick clip of you both looking amazing at the beginning, but I try to follow the story line of the day.
